You’ve reached the website of the Noah’s Kitchen Annual Chili Cookoff, a major fundraising event for Noah’s Kitchen, a 501(c)3 charitable organization aimed at addressing issues with feeding homeless individuals and educating them on methods to change their situation. It’s a growing organization that diligently focuses on keeping it’s overhead as lean as possible in order to convert as much of it’s fundraising as possible towards directly impacting lives. Our goal for this year’s cookoff is to raise $5000 towards the operations of Noah’s Kitchen.
If you would like to see the types of activities that the funding supports, here is a video from SleepOut Saturday, another event hosted by Noah’s Kitchen in partnership with Houston Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, in which people volunteered to do a candlelit walk through areas with a high density of homeless individuals to handout blankets and clothing. After the walk everyone slept outside in the cold in order to experience a small portion of the life of a homeless person for one night. The following morning Noah’s Kitchen volunteers did the standard Sunday morning handout with a new appreciation for what it meant to be homeless.
